Biography

Austin Scholp is a PhD candidate in biomedical engineering. He received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Wisconsin – Madison. Prior to moving to Iowa City and joining the Sander lab, he worked as a research assistant & lab manager at the UW Laryngeal Physiology Lab under Jack Jiang, a University of Iowa alum. There, he had a wide range of roles including grant writing and mentoring undergraduate researchers. His current research is focused on the development of biochemical therapies for arthrofibrosis. Upon receiving his PhD, he hopes to obtain a faculty position and open his own lab.
